Li Si (?-BC208)
Li Si was from Chu ShangCai (now located in ShangCai southwest, Henan Province). Li Si is the famous politician, litterateur and calligrapher in Qin Dynasty. He advocates that xiaozhuan should be regarded as the standard calligraphic style. xiaozhuan makes people a good impression: written in the powerful and graceful ways; the character is round, full of softness and power. It plays an important role in the standardization of Chinese characters.
Carving stones like "Mount Tai Carving Stone", "Langyatai Carving Stone", "Mount Feng Carving Stone" and "Huiji Carving Stone", ect. are all Li Si's works.

Qintaishan Carving Stone was set up in 28th year of Qin Shi Huang (219 BC). It was the first carving stone of Mount Tai.
Qintaishan Carving Stone can be divided into two parts. The first half of it, consisting of 144 words, was engraved when Qin Shi Huang visited Mount Tai in 219 BC. The style is well-knit, vigorous, stable and peaceful; the character is upright and well-balanced; the stroke is round and square shaped and it is powerful; the structure is symmetric, of flat horizontal stroke and streight vertical stroke appropriate density in space. Qintaishan Carving Stone has great artistic values and historical values. It is regarded as the superior cultural treasures.
